Good health is essential for a productive and vibrant Latah County. For more than 100 years, Gritman Medical Center has fulfilled its mission "to provide extraordinary care to improve the health of the people in our communities." We accomplish this mission with the help of many generous individuals, businesses and organizations.
As we look to the future, it is clear that recruiting and retaining physicians is a strategic priority for Gritman Medical Center. In response to this community need, the Gritman Medical Center Foundation, the Gritman Board of Directors and Medical Staff created the Idaho Rural Medicine Scholarship to support WWAMI students who have demonstrated a commitment to provide rural healthcare in northern Idaho.
The WWAMI Regional Medical Education Program is a partnership between the University of Washington School of Medicine and the states of Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho (WWAMI) and is widely considered the benchmark academic model for training and placing physicians in rural and underserved areas.
We invite you to join us in working to help ensure that WWAMI medical students return to our beautiful area to practice medicine. Your gift to the Idaho Rural Medicine Scholarship will make a difference in the lives of bright and passionate students and help support the future of wellness and local healthcare.
