Caring for at-risk adults and our frail elders is something we can assist you with. Gritman Adult Day Health helps ease the stress on caregivers and provides a safe, caring, therapeutic environment for your loved ones to spend the day and return home at night.

This flexible day program compliments home care and allows caregivers time to work, run errands or have some much-needed "down time". You can drop off and pick up your loved one or use Gritman’s door-to-door transportation service.

Your loved ones will find Adult Day Health provides a stimulating, invigorating environment where rehabilitative therapies are integrated into daily activities. The companionship with peers helps maintain verbal skills and socialization. Cognitive and physical skills are practiced through exercise, cooking and gardening.

Visiting

We welcome you to visit Adult Day Health any time to experience the program and see how your life could be enriched by what we have to offer. If your loved one already is in the program, your continued involvement is encouraged. Family members are welcome any time between 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Support & Resources

We provide training and support for caregivers at our monthly Caregiver Support Groups and The Dementia Series (in conjunction with the Inland Northwest Alzheimer’s Association). These groups are hosted by our skilled and caring facilitators and meet monthly in locations throughout Latah and Whitman counties. Also, care conferences including family and staff assist in planning for your loved one’s needs.

An important resource for seniors and health care professionals living on the Palouse is Project ACCESS. This organization provides mental health education and promotes continuity of care for rural seniors.

Project Access is a collaborative, interagency offering of Gritman Medical Center, Pullman Regional Hospital and Whitman Hospital and Medical Center. The purpose is to close gaps in services for our communities and those we serve. Funded by grant monies, Project Access focuses on increasing rural Seniors’ access to existing services through transportation, community education and outreach, and caregiver needs. Learn more.
