Gritman Medical Center has assumed management of the therapy facility and pool previously managed by Latah Health Services. Gritman Medical Center has assumed the majority of the financial responsibility, with the Latah County assuming utility costs. We’d like to thank our community for bearing with us during the past several weeks of discussion and planning in determining how the arrangement would work positively for all involved. We are looking forward to continuing this service for our community.

The details of the agreement include several items, maintenance of the pool and management of staff. At this time Gritman is staffing the pool with current Gritman employees. This includes pool maintenance, which began at an earlier date, to ensure the safety of the pool for all users. Gritman Medical Center staff members will continue programs that have been offered at the pool including pay-per-visit sessions, as well as exercise and prenatal classes. No price increase is planned on at this time, current prices of $5 per session or $50 per month will continue.

Future endeavors regarding expansion of pool services and the use of the remaining therapy space has yet to be determined. Gritman Medical Center is proactively working towards making positive use of the space, in order to provide services that most benefit our community. Options at this time include increased offerings in the pool, dry ground aerobics for all ages and fitness levels, physical therapy services, and additional community wellness activities.
