Diabetes Education
Diabetes Care: Education and Therapeutics
What is diabetes care, education & therapeutics? This comprehensive, self-management program teaches you the skills needed to successfully manage your diabetes. Our goal is to help you take control of your diabetes, maintain a healthy lifestyle, and reduce your risk of complications related to diabetes.
The key to successful self-management includes proper nutrition, monitoring your blood-sugar levels, an appropriate exercise program, and if required, medication. Our certified diabetes educator will work closely with you and your physician to create an individualized self-management program.
We encourage family members to participate in all diabetes care programs offered. A physician’s referral is required. For information, talk with your physician, or call the Diabetes Care Department at (208) 883-6341.
