Medically Supervised Fitness Gym
Cardiac Rehabilitation Phase II
If you have had a heart attack, bypass surgery or have been diagnosed with stable angina in the past year, you may qualify
for Gritman’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Program. Medicare and most private insurance companies cover this program,
but we ask that you verify that with your insurance provider.
Pulmonary Conditioning Program
Do you have physical limitations, a chronic disease or want the security of exercising in a safe and monitored
environment? People with emphysema, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, chronic bronchitis or other respiratory problems can exercise
safely at Gritman Medical Center.
Parkinson’s Disease Exercise Program
This exercise program is designed specifically for people with Parkinson’s disease and their spouses or
caregivers. The class provides a combination of aerobic and strength training with coordination and balance training.
Osteoporosis Exercise Program
This class is for individuals diagnosed with osteoporosis or osteo-arthritis or who have risk factors for these diseases.
This class is designed to help individuals improve their bone density, strength, endurance and body composition.
Diabetes Exercise Program
A regular program of moderate intensity exercise can help control blood glucose levels in people with diabetes. Gritman’s
Diabetes Exercise Program is designed for people who want to exercise in a safe environment where their blood glucose levels,
blood pressure and heart rate are monitored.
Healthy Heart Wellness Program
If you have congestive heart failure (CHF), coronary artery disease (CAD), high blood pressure, high cholesterol, stents,
arrhythmias, or valve replacements, you may benefit from Gritman’s Healthy Heart Program.
Health & Fitness Program
You don’t have to have something wrong with you in order to exercise at Gritman. If you just want to workout
in a safe environment where a Registered Nurse and Exercise Specialist monitor your blood pressure and heart rate,
Gritman is the place to be.
For dates and times of each program or for more information please call (208) 883-6088. All programs are located in
the Fitness Gym on the 3rd floor of the hospital. A physician referral is required before starting any exercise program.
