Therapy Solutions
At Gritman Therapy Solutions Physical Therapy our mission is “To provide the highest quality physical therapy to enhance and promote healthy living.” We work with our patients to help them achieve quality of life through improved function. The services we provide include:
Inpatient rehabilitation
This is physical therapy provided in the hospital, usually after an extended illness or surgery. In this setting we focus on helping the patient achieve the necessary level of function to return home after a hospital stay. The focus of inpatient therapy is mobility and independence. Frequently, inpatient PT is follow up with continued therapy in an outpatient setting.
Outpatient Physical Therapy
In the outpatient setting we provide a variety of PT services which include:
Geriatric care
Several of our therapists are trained to address needs specific to our older population. After a total joint replacement, such as a hip or knee, we work with the patient to normalize walking, improving the strength and motion of the affected area.
Sports rehabilitation
Many of our therapists have advanced training in sports rehabilitation. After a surgical procedure, we focus on a return to full activity. The therapist works closely with the doctor to assure that the athlete is ready to return to play without increased risk of injury.
Spine rehabilitation
Several members of our PT staff have received advanced training in treatment of the spine. They often provide hands-on types of PT to restore motion and strength to the spine while decreasing pain.
Women’s health
We have therapists who have been specifically trained to address the unique needs of our female population. Through specialized treatment techniques they can help reduce incontinence. They are trained to address the swelling and discomfort that are often present after a mastectomy (surgery to remove the breast due to cancer).
Pediatrics
This is a specialized area of physical therapy that deals with children and their unique needs. Frequently, this service is provided in a school setting. When needed, this special population may be seen in an outpatient setting as well.
Community outreach
We have several community outreach programs designed to improve quality of life and independence. We teach the “Movement Matters” class, Pilates and sports injury prevention classes. For more information on any of these classes, please click here.
Home services
Through Gritman Medical Center’s Home Health program, we are able to provide therapy services at home for those patients who are home-bound and cannot attend outpatient therapy.
Speech/ Language Pathology
At Therapy Solutions, speech language pathologists work with patients who have impairments in speaking or
understanding language. Our goal is to help each patient communicate more effectively. We also assist patients
who have swallowing disorders to eat and swallow safely.
Our pathologists are certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing
Association and are experienced in working with patients of all ages. Specialty areas include swallowing disorders,
speech and language disorders due to stroke, head injury, neurological diseases and developmental delay, and tongue
thrust problems.
Family Support and Education
Our therapists know how important family and friends can be to a successful recovery. Therefore, in addition to
working with the patient, our therapists work with caregivers or family members to assist in a successful
rehabilitation. Support is available to patients through one-on-one sessions with the therapist or through one of
the specialized support groups offered.
In addition, many educational opportunities are available to our patients and their families. Therapy Solutions's
educational programs include work-site assessments and work hardening clinics, speech therapy clinics for children,
sports medicine and athletic training clinics, and community programs.
