If you are having a medical emergency, please dial 911 or seek care at the Gritman Medical Center Emergency Department.
Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Red Cross is designed for healthcare providers and public safety professionals and meets a variety of certification and licensing requirements.
Our blended learning courses combine online presentations of “lecture” materials, with interactive scenarios that help improve clinical decision-making skills, and in-person skills sessions. Coursework is self-paced, can be personalized with our adaptive learning pre-assessments, and modular, so you can train on your schedule.
Once enrolled in BLS through Gritman’s HealthStream Learning Center, students can access the self-paced course anytime from any computer. Once a student has finished the online HealthStream portion of the course which may take two hours, they must schedule a time with Gritman’s Education Department to complete a hands on skills check off on voice assisted computerized manikins. Skills check off for BLS takes about 30 minutes. Check offs are scheduled individually during normal business hours.
