Hazen, an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse-Certified Nurse Practitioner (APRN-CNP), sees patients every day at the Gritman | University of Idaho Vandal Health Clinic. Her most frequent types of care involve anxiety and depression, as well as sexually transmitted infections, but she treats student patients for a broad range of primary care options.

Hazen served as a Registered Nurse with Gritman for seven years before joining the Vandal Health Clinic. Originally from New Jersey, she fell in love with the region while on an AmeriCorps project and never left. Hazen has led the Vandal Health Clinic since 2020 and visibly enjoys the daily interaction with students.

“I genuinely care about students and their health and the health of the community,” she said. “I want students to know that we’re here and available.”

Members of the university community from all backgrounds, and with any and all medical concerns, can feel comfortable walking in or making an appointment at the Vandal Health Clinic. Integrated as part of the Gritman system, Hazen is an on-campus option for students, faculty and staff who want the benefits of a primary care provider with the proximity to their daily activities on campus.

“My values are to be of service and to gather skills that can be helpful to people,” she said.
