Gritman Orthopedic Surgeons is led by the well-known team of Dr. Marvin Kym and Sunshine Huffman, ONP-C. These two experienced providers join the advanced and integrated orthopedic care program here at Gritman, bringing compassionate expertise to the region.
Dr. Marvin Kym has nearly 30 years experience as an Orthopedic Surgeon both in private practice and with regional health systems. He has held privileges at Gritman Medical Center since 1994. Dr. Kym completed medical training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and residency at the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita. Dr. Kym is currently seeing patients at Gritman Orthopedic Surgeons.

Sunshine Huffman, ONP-C, CNOR, RNFA holds the distinction as the first and only person to be certified as an Orthopedic Certified Nurse Practitioner in Idaho. She has worked in the field of orthopedic surgery for more than 20 years, including in the Orthopedic Surgical Assistant Role. She holds degrees from Gonzaga University and Lewis-Clark State College.

Since 1990, Inland Orthopaedic Surgeons has been providing the region with a wide range of orthopedic services. Its surgeons are certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Dr. Hazelwood has received a multitude of awards during his medical career including PGY-5 Orthopaedic Surgery Resident Leadership Award (2012), San Diego Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine Fellowship 10th Annual Jeff Tamborlane Award, and the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award (2013) for the best medical clinic in the Air Force. Dr. Hazelwood joined Inland Orthopaedics in 2017.
Dr. Mathew Taylor, is a board eligible Orthopaedic Surgeon that has recently completed a sports medicine fellowship with Orthopaedic Research of Virginia. He joined the team at Inland Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine Clinic in 2021.
Dr. Tingstad currently serves as the team physician and orthopaedic surgeon for Washington State University, as well as a clinical instructor for the WWAMI Program at the University of Washington School of Medicine. In addition, he is an assistant professor at Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine, a principal reviewer of the American Journal of Sports Medicine (AJSM), and a Washington State delegate for the American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine (AOSSM).
Dr. Vandenbos received an undergraduate degree in Health Science from Boise State University in 2007 and a medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine in 2011. Dr. Vandenbos was certified in Orthopaedic Surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in 2018.
Dr. Vandenbos joined Gritman’s medical staff in the fall of 2021. Prior to coming to the Moscow area, Dr. Vandenbos cared for combat wounded soldiers in Afghanistan and received the Army Commendation Medal.
