Ensuring families don’t have to travel long distances for care is our mission and vision at Gritman Medical Center.

We’re making great progress. As you’ll read in this issue of Connections Magazine, our more than two dozen primary care providers at locations throughout Latah County treat patients with compassionate expertise. Whether Physician Assistant Skyler Worthington is performing an annual wellness exam at our Potlatch Family Medicine clinic or Dr. Robin Sautter is assisting an expectant mother from the Moscow Family Medicine Downtown clinic, more families than ever are able to get their health care right here in Latah County.

Having a network of providers is helpful when patients need to be referred for specialty services. That’s why I’m excited about the patient care expansion of our downtown medical office building. Over the next several months, we’re doubling the number of infusion bays available through Gritman Infusion Services as well as expanding clinic space available for neurology, oncology and interventional pain patients. This issue of Connections highlights the state-of-the-art facilities available through this patient care expansion, allowing us to bring like services together and limiting the miles our friends and family need to travel for care.

Our advanced technology upgrades also keep more patients close to home for healing and recovery. Gritman’s orthopedic program recently acquired the VELYS robotic-assisted solution, a device that aids our experienced surgeons through every step of a knee replacement. The device, used by both Gritman Orthopedic Surgeons and Inland Orthopaedic Surgery, has been shown to speed up post-surgery recovery and reduce the overall cost of surgery.

Learn more about our history as the region’s independent, nonprofit, community-led hospital at gritman.org/125.

These and other initiatives ensure we continue to deliver on our mission of providing extraordinary care for the people in our communities. As we celebrate our 125th anniversary, we can be proud at how we’re elevating the legacy Dr. Charles Gritman created while building the future of patient care for our region.

Sincerely,

Kara Besst
