Bertie's Gift Shop

The best place for unique, thoughtful gifts

Bertie’s Gift Shop is named in honor of Bertie Gritman, Dr. Charles Gritman’s wife. Bertie was born on Oct. 12, 1865, to pioneer parents in Waitsburg, Wash. She married Dr. Gritman on Jan. 10, 1895. Bertie was a registered nurse, and worked her whole married life developing and managing the hospital, including patient rounding, supervising food preparation, as well as training nurses in the Gritman Hospital Nursing School.

Berties Gift Shop is operated by volunteers and all proceeds support educational scholarships. If you would like to volunteer in the hospital gift shop or make a donation of an antique and/or collectible, please contact Volunteer Services @ volunteer@gritman.org.
