Gritman Medical Center is staffed 24 hours a day by licensed cardiopulmonary and respiratory professionals. Whether you are recovering in the hospital or undergoing diagnostic tests, our goal is to keep you breathing more easily.

We offer a broad range of services, provided throughout all hospital care areas:

  • 12-lead EKG acquisition and interpretation
  • Asthma education
  • Arterial, venous and capillary gases
  • Bedside bronchoscopy
  • Electroencephalograms (EEG) acquisition and interpretation
  • Pediatric electroencephalograms (EEG)
  • Lung (pulmonary) function tests including DLCO (diffusing capacity of the lungs for carbon monoxide) and spirometry
  • Overnight oximetry (blood-oxygen saturation)
  • Heliox therapy (helium and oxygen treatment for asthma)
  • Pentamidine treatments (lung transplant treatment)
  • Free tobacco cessation counseling

Our seven therapists have more than 150 years of combined experience. All are licensed through the National Board for Respiratory Care and the State of Idaho. We also hold certifications in Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and the Neonatal Resuscitation Program, equipping our team to care for all types of patients.
